Theres a quality in the dimarzios that makes them sound complex, sounds like overtones. The Seymour duncans are in your face with the note fundamentals. I think thats what makes them great for big distorted proggy chords. But the thing is that every single dimarzio that I've heard has that overtone quality and every single Seymour Duncan ive tried has that dry in your face quality.

You don't see Railhammer discussed much but they have interesting looks and designs due to their mixing polepieces and blades. Thanks for this!

IT sounds to me like the Alnico Grande Humbucker in the bridge, would be perfecty complimented by the Neuvo 90 as a singin, matching the output without that boomy over-bassing when playing on a high gain setting and wanting to use the neck for rhythm stiff sometimes as wells as a more singing/cutting and with more cut and single-note definition and clarity pickup that has a output to where the neck doesnt suddenly make your heavy soudiing bridge pickup metal riff sound thin and to tinny and trebly when you switch tot he neck for some chords and single note or octaves and soloes and stuff... can anyone tell me if a Alnico Grande Bridge PU in my 1979 Ibanez ST-50, matced with a Neuvo-90 in the Neck position ( i guess the Neck Neuvo 90? I dunknow.. i currently have the original SUer hot Ibanez V-2 Bridge with the only thing left of my burned up beloved Guild POlara.... the Bridge HB-1 pickup wich only has atm after a house fire... 8.4kh output and just the right amount of cutt compaired to the super hot bridge V02 ibanez hubucker which is 15.78kh ! But i LOVE rialhammers and truly want to one day maybe endorse them! i have been contemplaying this specific change up on my beloved 79 Ibanez 24 fret 25" scale length ST50.. ( fantastic guitars btw if you ever get a chance to play a vintage Ibanesz ST-50 or 300 or whaever... PLAY IT!) anyways.. I finanly got to hear and try out my first Revernd, it was the sold body set kneck guitar... i forget the model.. i LOVED IT AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE RAILHAMMERS! OMFG!!! that guitar was amazing and the pickups amazinf! It felt very confortable after 25 years or more on my 25" scale legnth beautifully sculpted shallow C prfile vintage 24 fret ibanez ... bravo!

Most don't know this but the Fred is a half of the PAF pro. One coil on the Fred is a PAF pro coil and the other is tweaked for more output and midrange. I Prefer the PAF pro in both positions but do like the Fred. Surprisingly the Fred sounds great in the neck! Try it sometime

the sh-11 seems a bit hotter with more natural compression. and maybe a slight boost in the mid range. The Fred kind of has a more single coil like sound imo just without the characteristic spankiness. As a guy that Usually plays singles, i'm really liking the sound of the Fred.

I didn’t like the distortion they chose for the demo , wasn’t live so can’t say it was fair Seymour’s aren’t that muddy or that dull sounding, PV 5150 mid tone amp dimarzio must be super bright

Recently picked up a guitar with a Pegasus - nicely balanced and articulate, my favorite at the moment.

57 has added dynamics and organics. The Het Set still has more of that original EMG compression and tightness.

Very similar sounding, I have a TB-5 (Trembucker version of the SH-5) and it´s awesome sounding...like it so much better than the JB (too harsh for my taste). The Tone Zone to be honest sounds just a little better, more open sounding, better low end and better high end as well. But it´s just a tiny smidge difference from my perspective. Both sound great!

The Super Distortion sounds better by itself, but I predict the Het sounds better in a mix. It sounds like it has a narrower frequency response with more emphasis on the low mids. The Het is part of EMG's attempt to mix their classic active designs with a PAF style voicing. I generally don't like this approach because I think those sounds are complete opposites and the result is something with weaknesses of both: a PAF that sounds like a bad active pickup or an active pickup that sounds muddy. Lastly, all modern EMG comparisons should be done with the EMGs in 24 volts with the 24 Volt Mod. In 24 volts, you'll probably find your old EMG 81 is just fine and you don't need a new pickup.

Clean the Duncan Distortion sounds like what I thought the Super Distortion would. Sounds kind of notched or like a cocked wah in the upper mids. I don't use DiMarzios, but I use the Duncan Distortion for solos in my Jackson DK2S with Sustainiac. The Duncan Distortion can be really harsh. You can hear it on the clean at 2:13 when it peaks with that bit of digital distortion on the strummed chord. They sound almost identical under high gain. I don't use the Duncan Distortion for rhythms anymore precisely because all of that fizz and harshness. The highs can also be really shrill. I dialed it down to a Parallel Axis Original and found it similar to the Duncan Distortion but without most of its drawbacks. The amp can compensate for any missing output.

On the last example, the DiMarzio has a killer woody knock on the low string palm mutes that's absent on the JB. I've been chasing that tone and have just bought one to see if it translates in my guitars.

sh14 cleans are even better vs this one wow. the 85 likes cleans better then the 81 IMO. the 81 is just a hair tighter it seems distorted. sweet, thanks man!
